Your trip to Boston sounded great! Was that the first time that you've used a Subway? It was weird for me the first time. Is the ocean cold there? What was your favorite part of the trip?
This week was great for us! We're making progress with the office work! I have now 100% lost any fear that I had before of making phone calls because we make sooooo many calls a day. Sometimes when we leave the offices to go do visits, the three of us (Elder Zubeldia, Elder Crandall and I) just walk in the street in silence. Silence is a beautiful thing.
I can relate to your comment about everyone being in their phones. The buses, trains and subways are like that here too. Have you heard about the worldwide training that the church is giving to missionaries about proper technology use? We've recently gotten manuals to study and online training to go through. I like the principles that we've been learning. Good stuff to use before, during and after the mission.
Katherin progressed this week! The YSA in our ward are helping us out a lot with teaching her and inviting her to church activities. She wasn't able to go to church this week but she's still excited to learn more and get baptized!
We talked with Sebastian and Carolina about the importance of true repentance before baptism. We talked about them getting married in order to be in good standing before God! They were a little apprehensive at first but as we talked about the importance of marriage in God's plan, they warmed up to the idea. We visited them a few days after the marriage lesson and they told us that they had decided to get married but still needed to work out the details!!!!! Carolina also told us that she called Sebastian while he was at work and he said, " hey, I'm trying to read the book of Mormon. Could you call me in 10 minutes?" Yeah! Go Sebastian! Carolina is now working to get ahead of him in her reading. She's also started reading general conference talks. Aguante la palabra del SeƱor!
Overall, things are going fantastic! I'm feeling stronger connections with the investigators and members in our ward and the Lord´s work is going forward.
Something that's been helping me feel more joy has been focusing on how doing the things I do bring me closer to God and other people. Our relationship with God is the most important thing that we have and developing a better one is a worthwhile effort.
I love you, Mom!
Love,
Elder Smith
