Hi Mom,
Fresh cucumbers sound so good! I miss having a garden right out back. We're trying to be more healthy in the offices and it's a good challenge to do so with the food that's available and the funds we have. But we are going to do it. We ate at a Peruvian restaurant today and I had really good fried fish with rice and lentils. And wheat soup. I didn't know that was a thing but it tastes great!
We're currently waiting for the transfers from President Smith. Tomorrow is the shuffling of missionaries between areas and companions and we get to organize all of it. There has been a little bit of drama between the different taxi services that we use. Elder Drummond and I have been working to set up good deals with them for the past few days and I think it will turn out well (Elder Drummond has been doing it with me because he's the financial secretary). I'll tell you next week how it goes.
I had an interview with President Smith yesterday and he said he is extremely happy with how the offices are going right now. He said it's the best it has ever been. We hope to keep improving (tomorrow Elder Drummond and Elder Crandall with be getting new companions to train in their respective positions. I've got at least 6 more weeks until I train my replacement. That means a minimum of 12 more weeks in the offices).
In our interview, I asked President how I can have more hope for having success in my area. We aren't in our area as much as we'd like and we want to continue having success. President kinda chuckled at my question and responded, "Elder Smith, you have to expect miracles (remind you of dad constant referrences to Mormon chapter 9?). There is no way that you can logically have the same success in your area that other areas have because you aren't in your area as much. It doesn't make sense. Blessings and miracles from God are the only option." We continued the discussion and ended up talking a lot about the hope that we can only have through Christ.
I'm grateful for leaders (and parents as well) that point me towards Christ. Thank you, Mom, for always showing me how to have faith in Christ.
Answering the question about the Villas, there are no building codes of any kind. Nada.
I'll try and send more videos. I usually just forget to take pictures and videos (sorry). I'm doing well with my journal though so I'll have many stories and memories to share!
Have a great week! Les amo mucho!!!
